Robert J. Byrnes
Vice President of Research & Development, Chief Technical Officer
Mr. Byrnes was appointed vice president of research and development and chief technical officer for VX in 1993, with overall responsibility for product design and technology development. In his role, he oversees the development of VX CAM products, contract development, recruitment, third-party integration, translators and Windows NT development. Prior to assuming his present position at VX, Mr. Byrnes was director of CAM software development.
At VX, he innovated and implemented object-oriented and process-centric CAM architecture for VX products. Prior to joining VX, Mr. Byrnes was director of software development at INCAD, where he developed advanced surface milling techniques. In addition, he has held similar software development positions at Harris Corp. and GE Calma.
Mr. Byrnes has won numerous in-house awards for assisting customers and innovating products and is a contributing author of “Handbook for Solid Modeling” (McGraw-Hill 1995). He earned the B.S. degree in applied mathematics with physics concentration from the University of California. |
