VX Corporation, the pioneering developer of advanced, integrated CAD/CAM solutions for engineers and industrial designers, has completely re-written its 3D array tools to deliver best in class functionality.

Array Any 3D Entity With One Toolset
VX CAD/CAM software is functionally rich and boasts many useful routines. One of these routines, the patterning tool, is now available from one easy to use menu with a number of new options for defining patterns of any entity type, e.g. features, assembly components, entire models or wireframe entities. In addition to linear and circular patterns, users can easily define patterns that follow a curve, user defined irregular point-to-point patterns, or patterns of patterns.
Powerful new array options have also been incorporated. In addition to uniform arrays, it is now possible to produce staggered pitch arrays with ease. Arrays can be set to follow or "wrap around" a face/surface. They can also be set to fit inside a profile on that face, and any array positions can be selectively omitted along the array. Since VX is a hybrid modeler, feature arrays (e.g., copying a boss or rib to several positions) can be applied to open, non-manifold surfaces - no solids required.
Bob Fischer, VX vice president sales and marketing, said "This functionality is awesome; there is no end to the uses it can be put to, serving both the mechanical engineer and industrial designer equally well."
